Hardware quality engineer and researcher working at the intersection of reliability engineering and applied AI — bringing twelve years of quality discipline from automotive and hyperscale infrastructure into the frontier of humanoid robotics.
I'm a Staff Quality Engineer at 1X Technology in Hayward, California, where I work on quality systems for humanoid robotics hardware. My background spans four distinct domains of hardware quality: automotive driveline systems at GKN Driveline, hyperscale cloud infrastructure at AWS, ASIC-based networking hardware at Nexthop Systems, and now robotics at 1X. Across all four, the common thread has been building quality and reliability discipline into environments where the manufacturing playbook doesn't yet exist.
I'm currently pursuing an MS in Project Management at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, where my thesis examines AI-driven operational intelligence for quality and manufacturing systems in deep-tech hardware startups — using a mixed-methods sequential explanatory design to study how emerging hardware companies can build data-driven quality operations without the manufacturing maturity that legacy industries take for granted.
What I'm working on
My research asks how deep-tech hardware startups — companies building genuinely new categories of physical product, without decades of process history to lean on — can build quality and manufacturing intelligence that keeps pace with engineering iteration. It's a question I sit inside of daily: robotics hardware quality doesn't have the same thirty years of institutional muscle memory that automotive does, and the gap between "we have a defect" and "we understand the defect's failure physics" is where a lot of the interesting quality work happens.
